This project involved making a central family room, part of an open-plan layout, feel more welcoming and cosy. Initally painted in a color that made it feel cool and unapproachable, we created a color palette that instantly transformed the mood. We updated the fireplace mantel and surround to be more of a focal point without being overwhelming. We reconfigured the furniture layout, grouping seating in a more intimate way. Two distinctive but complimentary sofas anchor the space and are perfectly suited for hosting a movie or game night or welcoming in family or friends. Layered rugs and lots atmospheric lighting help to make it feel like an inviting haven.
